Meet Fountain Fort Carson High School, Class of 2016 Senior, Tanner! When I met Tanner at his consultation he had blue hair and they said they wanted to do a bunch of his shoot downtown by the graffiti walls because Tanner is a guitar player. It just fit better than a field with mountain views. When we showed up for the shoot, he had fresh green hair. It’s awesome and even better was his mom’s acceptance of it. It’s who he is. Mom didn’t make him change it just for senior pictures, they were documenting him, in his senior year of high school. Oh, did I love this shoot. Aside from great people, it was a creative change of pace. When I met them, they had spent some time downtown scouting out some great walls and found such a variety of locations that were totally new to me. I didn’t have my tried and true spots and angles and I was able to look at everything from a new perspective. Times like this are a breath of fresh air and I love it when they come along. Fountain Fort Carson High School, Senior Photos, Colorado Springs, Leocadia Photography, guy, green hair, graffitiOne thing to note about graffiti photography? Look closely at the wall before you snap. But seriously, look at that wall.. what amazing and intricate art work. With a can of spray paint! There should be an art walk of downtown Colorado Springs walls, we have some talent in this town. We Tanner’s mom schlepped his electric guitar, bass guitar, and amp all over downtown.Fountain Fort Carson High School, Senior Photos, Colorado Springs, Leocadia Photography, guy, green hair, amp, guitar, bass, graffitiI love when seniors bring props of their hobbies and activities – it helps to tell the story of them and their place in this world. Tanner’s outfit changes were different band t-shirts. You guys, he brought a classic Green Day Dookie shirt. This “Grew-up-in-the-nineties-Seattle-girl” had much respect. Also, anyone with lyrics on their Chucks is awesome. There are so many pictures that I want to show you from this shoot…Fountain Fort Carson High School, Senior Photos, Colorado Springs, Leocadia Photography, guy, Green hair, parking garage, mountains, guitar, bass, ampWe ended up on the Santa Fe trail because equally important to represent is that Tanner is an Eagle Scout. He worked hard for that honor and he and his mom thought it important to represent nature in his photos somehow. We found this spot along the Jack Quinn’s route. The light was perfect, the setting was amazing and if you want to get all kinds of existential, I’m sure that bridge could represent something for you.Fountain Fort Carson High School, Senior Photos, Colorado Springs, Leocadia Photography, guy, bridge, green hairThis was an amazing shoot, Thank you Tanner for choosing me for your senior photos.
